SAM Consultancy: Compliancy: License Management : Technical Support : Discovery
SAM Consultancy: Many companies already have a discovery tool which is producing consistent data and has been doing so for a while. However, has this data been used recently and do you know other ways that this important asset information can be utilised? Alongside the physical piece, Basilica employs experienced SAM Consultants who can review, update and introduce new uses and ideas to ensure the data is managed in line with the latest standards regarding software use from its requirement until retirement. These policies provide a full audit trail for all software and ensure you know each piece is being used to its full advantage. All policies and procedures are aligned with the ITIL SAM Best Practise guide and ISO 19770-1. Quarterly reviews will make sure that they remain effective and continue to reflect the business requirement.
Compliancy:Using either our hosted discovery tool, or your own onsite tool, a full audit is completed. Starting with the traditional understanding around compliancy we work to produce your current licensing position (ELP). Then, to further enhance the tools results, Basilica works with you to design your required reports and metering levels. After an agreed period of time a compliancy resolution and licensing solution is determined. If requested, Basilica will work with each of your chosen vendors to grant you confirmation of your compliancy in line with their own policy.
Licensing Management: Good license management is where SAM came from. Being over-licensed or using the wrong scheme is potentially more expensive than being caught being under licensed. Ideal if you are not yet ready to embark on a full SAM Solution and require data for a planned software upgrade like Vista or Office 2007.
